Thank you for your interest in volunteering at One of a Kind Pet Rescue!
The first step to becoming a volunteer with our organization is to fill out a Volunteer Application. Click the link below to get started. Please use an email address that you frequently check when filling out the application. All interested volunteers, including minor children, must complete a separate application.

Upon receipt of the submitted application, an email will be sent to the email address based on the application to book a New Volunteer Orientation Experience. Please check your Spam or Junk mail if you do not see an invitation to book your orientation.

The New Volunteer Orientation Experience will include:

• A 60-minute tour of our One of a Kind Pet Rescue Adoption Center
• An understanding of our Mission and Goals
• How our volunteers play a vital role
• Our Policies and Procedures
• Opportunity to volunteer immediately to make an impact
• A One of a Kind Pet Rescue Volunteer shirt

Our New Volunteer Orientation Experience is a donation of $15 for each volunteer participating, which payment can be made via cash or credit upon arrival at the orientation. All volunteers are expected to invest in this orientation experience in order to volunteer with our organization and with this investment will receive a One of a Kind Pet Rescue volunteer shirt.

All volunteers, including minors, must sign and agree to our Volunteer Waiver upon arriving at orientation.

Upon completion of your volunteer orientation, you will be approved to assist with many volunteer tasks with the exception of walking dogs (leash handling a dog). For those interested in handling dogs, and for volunteers 18 years or older, the additional Dog Handling training is required. Upon completion of your New Volunteer Orientation Experience, you will be approved to schedule the Dog Handling training if you should choose. Further details about the Dog Handling training will be discussed at Volunteer Orientation.

OOAKP accepts volunteers of any age, however, for those volunteers under 16 years, a parent/guardian must attend with you and must volunteer side-by-side with you. Children under the age of 8 years do not need to attend orientation, but they may volunteer alongside a parent/guardian who has completed orientation. No volunteers under the age of 18 can handle a leash or walk a dog.

Our volunteer program allows you to volunteer when it is convenient for you. We do not require schedules, nor are you obligated to volunteer any set number of hours.
