Like many pet rescues,  One of A Kind Pet Rescue’s employees did not start in this field. We have a former food service manager, a former regional sales manager, a retired administrative assistant, a former controller, and a former contractor, to name a few. Our employees may not have similar career backgrounds, but they all love animals unconditionally.  No matter who the employee is, what their role is within the organization or what their background may be, we all collectively celebrate adoptions of a certain type….seniors. We honor these old souls for National Adopt a Senior Pet Month.

Sometimes we know the history of the pet, as they have individual backgrounds just as we do. Unless the animal is used to it, a pet rescue is a loud and unfamiliar place for a senior who’s used to being in a home. They are typically scared, depressed and longing for a comfortable home they once knew. This is why we all celebrate their adoptions, as we see and feel their pain every single day.

We always have senior pets in need of homes and we realize it takes a special person to welcome them in to their family. Regardless of  the pet’s history, the adopter knows the bulk of its life has passed, but they are receiving a sweet, loving, grateful soul. What the adopter may not realize is that they are giving us a gift as well. A gift that could never be purchased or duplicated, as each pet is so very unique. We currently have quite a few seniors at our rescue and welcome you to meet them and possibly welcome them in to your home for the rest of their days.
